An evaluation does not mean Deep TMS will automatically be recommended. It is an opportunity to better understand your symptoms and discuss whether this treatment may fit your care plan.
Deep TMS is not appropriate for everyone. Certain metal objects or implanted devices in or near the head may affect whether treatment is an option. A history of seizures or other neurological factors should also be reviewed.
Headache and temporary discomfort around the treatment area can occur. Your clinician can discuss potential risks, expected effects, and questions specific to your health history before treatment is considered.
BrainsWay Deep TMS carries several distinct FDA clearances that extend beyond standard adult major depressive disorder treatment. These include clearance for major depressive disorder with comorbid anxious distress, a separate clearance for major depressive disorder in elderly patients, a clearance for treatment-resistant depression in adolescents, and clearance as an adjunct treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder. At Synergy NeuroPsychiatry, our clinical team evaluates which clearance, if any, applies to you based on diagnosis, age, treatment history, and current symptom presentation.
BrainsWay Deep TMS is FDA-cleared as an adjunct treatment option for adults with OCD. It has also been studied in randomized, sham-controlled clinical research.
Research supports discussing Deep TMS as an option for selected patients with OCD. It does not mean that every patient will have the same experience or that a specific outcome can be guaranteed.
